Luis M Garza
During my under graduate studies, I was Vice President of the Exposure Photography club of UTSA and one of my duties included informal tutoring of Adobe Photoshop to other students. I also participated in an internship program with Arturo Almeida, Art Specialist/Curator for the UTSA Art Collection. I was tasked with carrying out the photographic reproduction of the entire UTSA Art Collection for management and cataloging proposes.
For the past seven years I have been a part of an association, convention and corporate events photography company as well as my own entrepreneurial ventures. My experiences have encompassed many facets of a photography business from not only digital photography but from computer networking and administration to digital content management as well as graphic/web design and print output. One of the major parts of my position was to manage and train new and existing photographers on concepts of composition, lighting, and camera operation as well as computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and other photographic and design programs. I have had the opportunity to work with many technical and creative professionals during this time. These opportunities have revealed to me that digital content, creative consistency and it's maintainability are key to a successful operation and business, big or small. I know that the experience that I have gained from the corporate environment as well as my experiences as a content creator and manager have given me a comprehensive skill set that will give you the assurance that the job will get done quickly and correctly.
My career trajectory includes the following goal orientated missions.
- Establish myself as a skilled Photographic Artist and Graphic-Web Designer
- Establish myself as an entrepreneur through various ventures centered in photography
- Establish an organization that promotes the photographic arts and artists in San Antonio and the surrounding South Texas region.
The premise of much on my work lies on the notion that although a photograph is one moment in time, it is important to see that there have been events that shaped the photograph. Also, it is important to see that the photograph will shape events in the future. People, Places, and Things are what make our world and the goal of the organization would be to promote the capture of those moments that tell stories and shape new ones.
